Explore Smart Grid Ready heat pumps that connect to modern energy networks, enabling intelligent load balancing, cost savings, and greener living. Smart Grid Ready (SG Ready) is a feature of the controller that enables interaction between the heat pump and the electricity grid. The heat pump and the grid communicate via a third party interface, called a Home Energy Management System (HEMS) so the heat pump can understand the best (and worst). SG Ready (short for smart grid ready) is a label certifying that a heat pump or a complimentary management technology can respond to defined external control signals. The label was introduced in 2012 by the German heat pump association (Bundesverband Wärmepumpe, BWP) together with 17 heat pump. alpha innotec was involved from the very beginning and offers only smart-grid-ready heat pumps. This means they meet the requirements of the SG Ready label. The first thing to say is: background information More and more electricity is needed to drive. Smart grid readiness in heat pump controls is best understood as a multi-layer capability: the heat pump system can communicate with external energy actors (utility/DSO/TSO, aggregator, building energy management, home energy management), interpret grid or market signals, and deliver measurable.
